[T] - Thermocouple Type-K

A type-K thermocouple with fiberglass insulation to measure temperatures up to 500°C

Thermocouples are ideal for measuring temperatures above 100°C. It is a probe that comes in the form of a metal bead capable of measuring the temperature of the air or a surface. Inexpensive thermocouples are often fitted with vinyl insulation which melts at around 200°C.
This thermocouple has fiberglass insulation, which makes it possible to measure much higher temperatures such as those of a heater or an oven. There is a bit of heat shrink tubing at each end to hold the fiberglass in place and prevent it from fraying. If you exceed 250°C, remove this heat-shrink tubing using a cutter blade.
