AS7262 : the 6 channels spectrometer breakout
Detect six distinct channels of visible light with an affordable spectral sensor!
The AS7262 is not a simple RGB colour sensor! This component get six bands of colour that roughly reads the values for the red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet bands.
The breakout does fit two white LEDs used to illuminates the target to provides an accurate spectral readings (and can also be used to measure reflectivity of surfaces). The White LEDs used have a CRI of >=90 (Color Rendering Indice) and a colour temperature of 4,000K. This combination provides an accurate and consistent rendering of the colors.
This sensors can also be used to analyse various light sources, measuring light transmission through materials (or solutions) with an additional light source.
The AS7262 6-Channel Spectral Sensor Breakout 3.3V - 5V compatible. As the breakout does communicates its data through I2C bus, this breakout can also be used with the Garden Ecosystem of Pimoroni to simply plug it without any soldering. For more common usage, this breakout can be used with standard pin header (male, 5 positions) or with a right angle female connector (5 positions). As designed, the breakout can also be plugged onto a Raspberry-Pi GPIO (pins 1, 3, 5, 6, 9).
