Ambiant light sensor that mimic human eye - IR & UV blocking
This product is an ambient light sensor packaged into a transparent semisphere. This setup offers a better light-gathering capture to evaluates Lux power. The sensor can detect light in the range of 0-200K lux detection range. Thank to the I2C bus interface, this sensor is easy to use with any microcontroler.
The board is fitted with an on-chip photodiode offering a spectral response that mimic the human eye’s perception of ambient light. The photodiode have IR and UV blocking capability. The adaptive gain block automatically selects the correct lux range which optimize the counts/lux (light power is a matter of counting events with appropriate filtering and amplification. Looks simple but more complicated in the facts).
This kind of sensor (not the protective semisphere) is used for smartphones application, vehicule smart light, smart incubator, etc.
