This SHT31-F breakout is an I2C temperature and humidity sensor on the Sensirion SHT31-F sensor IC (from Switzerland). This sensor integrates a capacitive humidity sensing components and band-gap temperature sensing components. The SHT31-F will offers high reliability and stability on long-term measurements while keeping the power consumption quite low. SHT31F is knwon for its fast response and strong anti-interference ability.
The sensor supports I2C communication and can be powered with 3.3V or 5V. So it is a suited sensor for Arduino, Raspberry-Pi, Pyboard, PYBStick, Micro:bit, ESP32.
SHT31-F is the standard version of the SHT3x series. It provides humidity accuracy +/-2% RH @ 0% RH~100% RH (25°C) and temperature accuracy+/- 0.2°C @ 0°C ~90°C (typical).
It is easy to achieve precise and high-reliability temperature and humidity sensing. This sensor is suited for urban environment monitoring, industrial automation, smart home, building monitoring and any IoT applications.
The SHT31-F chip features a PTFE membrane dedicated to protecting the sensor opening from liquids and dust according to IP67. The sensor can work under rough environmental conditions (spray water, high exposure to dust) while still preserving the sensor performance and accuracy. Please remember that IP67 is related to dusty and wet alike conditions and not immersion or water under pressure.
Due to minimal package volume and the membrane’s high water vapor permeability, the response time of the relative humidity and temperature signal is identical to the value achieved by the uncovered sensor. Although the membrane option provides perfect protection against water and dust ingress, it does not in general prevent contamination from volatile chemicals.
