Measure windspeed with a ready to use anemometer outputing a voltage proportional to speed
Want to create a meteorologic station? The usual issue with lowcost windspeed is the electronic you need to develop around to proprely evaluate the windspeed. It is a bunch of electronic, knowledge and calibration to get it working properly.
This product will make the difference! First, it is designed as a ready to use sensor. The body is made of an aluminium alloy and contains military grade electronic (as the connector). This windspeed will provides steady and reliable measures during its very loooonnnngggggg lifetime.
As stated by the manufacturer, this windspeed can run in a temperature range from -20°C to +50°C and relative humidity of 35% to 85% (condensation).
The application field and usage conditions for this sensor are very large.
Using the sensor is also quite easy. Once powered up, the sensor does generate an analog output from 0 to 5V which is proportional to the speed of winf.
Just plug the output signal to an analog input of the Arduino to read the speed of wind. This sensor can also be used on a 3.3V analog input if you are using a 1/3 + 2/3 voltage divider (ex: 10KOhms + 20 KOhms) and measuring the voltage accros the 2/3 resistor.
On a Arduino, the Windspeed can be calculated with the formula WindSpeed=6*VOut. A voltage of 2.5V correspond to 15m/s.

Note from MCHobby
We did tried this windspeed device under 5V power supply and this seems to work pretty well. The results look stables and repetitive. However we cannot ensure the device to work under such condition.
We do recommend to follow the recommended powering voltage for the device.
