BNC connector to create your own coax connections
Do you need to create your own coax cable for your measure device, audio / video connection? Here is an handy product to help you in this task.
This is not the best BNC connector but you will be able to creates your own assemblies without the need of a dedicated crimp tool (which is great when you are a maker).
The central connexion point uses a screw terminal for the core wire. The shielding is pinch on the other end of the connector (into the open ring).
Useful tip
This connector does not offers a perfect connexion point since the shielding is interrupted somewhere near of the connector. As the shielding does not go up to the connector's front the connector wire is not protected up to the end. So, the core wire may capture some interference and the signal may be casually attenuated.
Personally, I do creates a tinned eyelet with the core wire so you can screw it securely on the connector. I do also solder the shielding wiring onto the shield ring for a better connexion (you may need to scrap open ring to ease soldering task).
