Introduction

Here is 16 relay board ready to use with your 5 volts based microcontroler projects.
This board is powered with 12 Volts and has a 5 volts regulator onboard (LM2596S 5.0) powering the board's components.

This board does offer all the electronic to control and power the 16 relaIs... each one being able to commute up to 10 Amp under 250V AC (the whole thing protected with optocouplers to keep your Arduino safe and secure).

Convenient, this board will offer a galvanic insolation between the low voltage componenants (your Arduino) and the high voltage load (the relay + your load wired to the relay).

Description

The relays on board are "single-pole" and "double-throw", also named "SPDT" relay.
The board is completely assembled and own its own 5V regulator (you can power it from 12V power supply).

The GND and +5V are available together with the relay control pins, so you can also power your microcontroleur from the relay board :-) .

The pins follow the standard 2.54mm spacing (like breadboards). Then, you can use molex connector or dupont wires (please see our wire assortiment). The power contacts of the relays are routed to 5mm screw terminals (3 contacts terminals).

The board has 4 fixing holes (3mm diametres).

Usage

To activate a Rx relay, you have to draw the corresponding INx pin to the ground (GND).
If the potential is not driven to the ground by the microcontroler then the INx pin is pull-up to 5 volts (provided by the power supply voltage).

Warning: please note that this relay board IS NOT COMPATIBLE with the Raspberry-Pi (or 3V microcontroler) as the INx pins are pull-up to 5 Volts.

  • Each relay need 63mA under 5 Volts when activated
  • Input Pin sink 3.7 mA to the ground (to activate the relay)

Working with higher voltage

Working with a voltage higher than 30V can be dangerous (in case of accidental contact). Higher voltage wiring should be done by skilled poeple. For safety reason, do not hesitate to ask help to a friend having the required "high voltage" skills.
Even rated for 230V AC, this product is not certified for industrial use or power networks in our country. So we recommend it for low voltage usage to our makers.
