Mini GPS PA1010D with Patch antenna - UART & I2C interface
It is a miniature GPS having 25mm x 25mm form-factor holding a GPS/GNSS solution with I2C and UART interfaces.
This GPS do have a patch antenna on the top and ready to use!
The breakout features the MTK3333 chipset. It is, a reliable and high-quality GPS module capable to manage 33 simultaneous tracking channels. It also have a high-sensitivity receiver tracking down to -165 dBm signal (even with the built-in antenna). It can refresh the data location up to 10 times per second, great to built a high sensitivity logging and tracking system.
The GPS Power usage is incredibly low, with 30 mA during navigation.
Adafruit Industries do add goddies on this breakout: an ultra-low dropout 3.3V regulator (can be powered from 3.3-5VDC), 5V level safe inputs for UART/I2C, footprint for optional CR1220 coin cell (will kept RTC right in time for warm start), a red LED for the PPS (Pulse Per Second) signal and a green LED for Power.
The PPS red LED blink every second when the GPS do have a fix. The LED stays off when the GPS do not have fix.
Features:
- Position Network: GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, QZSS
- Sensitivity: -165 dBm
- Refresh rate: up to 10 Hz
- Up to 210 PRN channels with 99 search channels and 33 simultaneous tracking channels
- 5V with 30mA current draw
- Breadboard friendly
- 4 mounting holes
- Interfaces: UART and I2C
- RTC battery-compatible
- PPS output on fix (±20ns jitter)
- Internal patch antenna
- Low-power and standby mode (activation with WAKE pin)
Unlike the Ultimate GPS modules, this module do not have external antenna connector (to keep it as compact as possible).
This GPS module is super easy to use thanks to the additional required circuitry as well as Qwiic compatible JST SH connectors (StemmaQT). Thanks to this connector you can use the board without needing to solder. Just use a STEMMA QT adapter cable, plug it into your favorite microcontroler and it is ready to use!
Content
For each order, you will receive one fully assembled and tested module, a piece of header (you can solder it on the board for breadboard prototyping). The GPS os also shipped with a CR1220 coin cell holder (cell coin not included but you can find CR1220 on our shop).
QT Cable are not included, but we have some on the the shop as well.
