Here is a "panel mount" type DC power base that allows you to bring a power connector directly on the case of your project. Once done, you would be able to plug the DC power bloc directly on your case (or battery bloc). The 5.5mm jack is the same that jack connectors used on Arduino world.
The standard in use would place the GND on the outside par of the jack and the positive on the center pin. We recommand to also use this standard on your own project.
