Prototyping HAT for Raspberry-Pi
Design your own HAT for Raspberry Pi, plug in your circuits and dress up your Raspberry A+, B+ or Pi 2 with this beautiful HAT derived from the "Perma Proto" range of Adafruit.
Like the "Perma Proto", this HAT features a 2.54mm impaction (like the breadboard and prototyping plates). You can easily weld resistors, integrated circuits, LEDs, potentiometers, etc.
As on the breadboards, the holes of the card are connected in rows (via traces under the card). There are also long distribution rails for +3V, +5V and ground (GND), connected to the PI GPIO.
Near the top of the card, you will find the breakouts of almost every GPIO signal (except pin #26).
This is the basic version of Perma-Proto HAT. The circuit board (the HAT) is delivered with a GPIO 2x20 connector for Raspberry Pi (to place your Perma-Proto on the top of your Raspberry Pi). This version is not equipped with an EEPROM, so you can 'stack' them with another HAT without worrying about EEPROM address collisions.
You can customize your Perma-Proto HAT either by using the 2x20 connector provided with the card or by opting for a 2x20 pin stacking header (not included). Using a Stacking Header allows you to add another card OR plug your Cobbler over your Perma-Proto Hat.
Some welding operations are needed to place the connector on the HAT but this should not take you more than 10 minutes.
This HAT is only compatible with the Raspberry Pi A+, B+ or Pi 2! It will not be suitable for Raspberry Pi A or B models.
