NO SOLDERING GPIO connector for Raspberry-Pi

If you are not confortable with soldering operation then putting a 40 pins GPIO (on a Raspberry-Pi) may appears as a very difficult task. These hammer headers might help you a lot by doing the the job without soldering. They come in male and female flavours, and use a mecanical technics to grip tightly into the holes of the PCB.

The installation jig kit contains two acrylic base pieces where you can place your Pi Zero (or pHAT). The two steel bolts, two nuts are use these on top of the PCB to hold it tightly to the base of the jig. Finally the acrylic top piece onto which you hammer to insert the male (or female) header into the holes of the board.

Make sure you carefully read the Pimoroni guide for fitting hammer headers and use a stable and strong surface while hammering.

When hammering a connectors, it is strongly recommander to use the installation Jig! Without the installation Jig, the hammering process may be delicate and tricky! The female headers are simpler to insert than the male headers.

Please note: we can't be held responsible for any damage that you may cause to your Pi Zero, pHAT, fingers, or headers while fitting them. If you follow carrefuly the guide then you should able to place the connector without issue. If this worries you, then get yourself a soldering iron instead!
